Ukraine reports over 200 combat engagements on June 8, with intense fighting in eastern and southern sectors

Ukrainian military authorities reported 213 combat engagements across the front line since the start of June 8, with intense fighting in Pokrovsk and Huliaipole. Commander Syrskyi noted territory gains.
Ukrainian military authorities reported 213 combat engagements across the front line since the start of June 8, according to the General Staff's evening update. Earlier in the day, 196 clashes were recorded. The Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions remained areas of intense fighting, experiencing 38 and 32 engagements respectively by evening. Russian forces also launched two missile strikes. This follows 240 combat engagements reported on June 7, during which Russia conducted numerous air strikes, deployed thousands of drones, and carried out extensive shelling. Separately, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that Ukrainian forces have regained over 600 square kilometers of territory since the year began, including a net gain of nearly 100 square kilometers in May, and inflicted over one billion dollars in damages on Russian forces.
