Ukraine repels drone attack, strikes Russian oil terminal, and tests new interceptor technology

Ukrainian air defense systems successfully countered a large-scale Russian drone assault on the night of June 8, intercepting 124 out of 155 incoming unmanned aerial vehicles, including Shahed and various imitator models. While 20 drones struck targets across 17 locations in Ukraine's northern, southern, and eastern regions, Ukrainian forces simultaneously conducted a strike on Russia's "Grushova" oil terminal in Novorossiysk. This operation, carried out by the 1st Separate Center of Unmanned Systems and Special Operations Forces, resulted in a fire at the "Sheskharis" complex, with damage assessments ongoing. Earlier, on June 7, Ukrainian forces eliminated a temporary Russian deployment site in Shchastia, Luhansk, targeting the 5th Cossack reconnaissance and assault brigade "Terek." Furthermore, Ukraine announced the successful combat testing of an autonomous drone system in Kharkiv Oblast, capable of automating 95% of Shahed interceptions, with plans for wider implementation.
