Trump cancels planned strikes on Iran after initial threats and Strait of Hormuz closure

President Donald Trump initially threatened Iran with a "very strong strike" and plans to seize oil infrastructure, also calling the April ceasefire "the most violated in history." Tehran responded by closing the Strait of Hormuz. Hours later, Trump canceled the planned strikes.

After two consecutive nights of military confrontations between American forces and Iran, President Donald Trump initially declared his intent for a "very strong strike" against the Islamic Republic. He further warned he would "bomb the shit out of Iran" if a proposed deal was not accepted, and detailed plans to take control of Kharg Island and other Iranian oil facilities. Trump characterized the April ceasefire as "the most violated in history." In response to these escalating tensions, Tehran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. However, several hours after his initial pronouncements, President Trump ultimately called off the planned military operations. Sources: Радіо Свобода, Українська правда, Громадське, Forbes Ukraine
