Zelensky reaffirms strikes as Zaporizhzhia plant loses external power

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reaffirmed his support for recent strikes on Russian oil and military sites, while the EU introduced a 21st package of sanctions. The Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant lost external power.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reiterated his backing for recent attacks on Russian oil and military infrastructure, asserting that Ukraine is implementing its own retaliatory measures. He also noted that an open letter sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin achieved its intended outcomes. Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen unveiled the 21st set of sanctions targeting Russia, stating, "Our sanctions are working." Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas supported this view, remarking that "Brick by brick, we are collapsing the foundations of Russia's war economy." French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that President Zelensky is scheduled to participate in the G7 summit on Tuesday. Separately, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant experienced a complete loss of external power overnight, prompting the IAEA to voice concerns about "permanent dangers to nuclear safety."
