Urban combat continues in Kostiantynivka as ZNPP loses external power again

Ukrainian forces engage in urban combat in Kostiantynivka, which a commander described as "semi-encircled." Meanwhile, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant experienced its 19th external power loss after a substation attack.

Urban combat persists in Kostiantynivka, where Ukrainian assault units are clearing enemy personnel. A battalion commander indicated the city is "semi-encircled" due to Russian advances near Chasiv Yar and Berestky. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) suggests Russia's main Donbas offensive focus has shifted to Kostiantynivka from Sloviansk.

Separately, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant lost external power for the 19th time on June 10, around 9 PM, following a substation attack. Energoatom confirmed the "ZaTES – Ferrosplavna №1" power line disconnected, prompting a switch to backup diesel generators, an event also reported by the IAEA. Additionally, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi stated Ukrainian drone units struck nearly 180,000 Russian targets in May, maintaining a 1.5 to 1 FPV drone advantage.
