Ukraine plans to seek an additional $20 billion in military aid from allies at the upcoming Ramstein meeting. Concurrently, the United States intends to significantly decrease its military assets in Europe.
Ukraine plans to seek an additional $20 billion in military aid from allies at the upcoming Ramstein meeting on June 18. This funding aims to strengthen its battlefield position and intensify strikes within Russian territory, with an official stating the objective is "so Russia burns." Meanwhile, the United States intends to significantly decrease its military assets, including fighter jets and naval vessels, assigned to NATO operations in Europe, a move European officials acknowledge could affect the ongoing conflict. Separately, German Army Chief Christian Freuding has warned that Russia might attack NATO members by 2029 or potentially sooner, prompting Germany to accelerate weapon production and improve army provisions.
