Ukraine confronts intense combat, drone attacks, and critical Kostiantynivka situation

Ukrainian forces have contended with significant Russian military activity, including extensive drone attacks and ground engagements. On June 13, Ukraine's air defenses reportedly downed 110 of 118 Russian uncrewed aerial vehicles launched across northern, southern, and eastern areas, though three strikes and fragments in six locations were noted. This followed 193 combat clashes on June 12, during which the General Staff recorded 61 air strikes, over 6,000 drone attacks, and 2,341 shelling incidents. Meanwhile, the strategic city of Kostiantynivka faces a "sharply worsened" situation, with Ukrainian troops engaged in urban fighting against Russian infiltrators. A commander stated the city is "semi-encircled" due to advances near Chasiv Yar and Berestky, describing the situation as "very complex," while an expert suggested a potential loss by "June-July." Additionally, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant suffered its 19th complete external power outage on June 10 following an attack on an electrical substation, necessitating backup diesel generators, as confirmed by the IAEA.
